Regular Meeting

A. Call to Order

President Gorman called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM

B. Roll Call

Present- Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart

Absent- Casey

Others Present- Heath, Stoner, Mooney, Carroll

C. Pledge of Allegiance

President Gorman asked everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance

D. Approval of Minutes

Motion made by Kelton, seconded by Hulse to approve the minutes from Regular Meeting on September 14, 2016 as presented. Members voting Aye: Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart. Nays: None. Motion carried.

E. Payment of Bills

Motion made by Mathisen, seconded by McCumber to pay the bills as presented.

Members voting Aye: Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart. Nays: None.

Motion carried.

F. Treasurer’s Report

G. Correspondence

H. Marterius Haywood and step mother, Sara Martin, came to discuss/review athletic code violation.

J. Peoria Heights Minutemen Wrestling Club

Motion made by Hulse, seconded by Mathisen to approve the request by Peoria Heights Minutemen Wrestling to use the Peoria Heights High School wrestling facilities as presented. Members voting Aye: Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart. Nays: None. Motion carried.

K. Coaching Contract

Motion made by Hulse, seconded by Kelton to approve a coaches contract offer to Jessi Webb to serve as the Cheerleading and Pom-Pom Sponsor at the Peoria Heights Grade School for the 2016-2017 school year.. Members voting Aye: Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart.. Nays: None. Motion carried.

L. Girls Basketball Lock-In

Motion made by Hulse, seconded by Kelton to approve the request for a lock in by the PHHS girls’ basketball team as presented.. Members voting Aye: Kelton, Hulse, Mathisen, McCumber, Gorman, Ahart.. Nays: None. Motion carried.

M. Concussion Protocol

Motion made by Mathisen, seconded by Hulse that the Board of Education approve the Concussion Policy and Protocol required by sec 5/22-80 of the Illinois School Code.

Ahart.. Nays: None. Motion carried.

N. Discussion Item: “Home in the Heights” program

O. Presentation of the School District FY16 audit

As presented

P. Other Business:

Heath: Next Meeting is November 9, 2016, Peoria Co Sales tax information discussed.

Stoner: Parent/Teacher conferences last week, homecoming week very successful, Oct 20 volleyball and Oct 21 football senior nights.

Mooney: Parent/Teacher conferences last week, teacher evals. up-coming

Carroll: State fire marshal and regional superintendent’s office came in for inspections, No PTO at the grade school any longer, photographer will be in school on Oct 28 for retakes and will do pictures of board members if they would like.

Kelton: Thank you to everyone who was involved in the alumni weekend.
