West Peoria City Council approves purchase orders

West Peoria City Council met Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Here are the minutes as provided by West Peoria:

1. Call to order

Mayor Dillon called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

2. Pledge of allegiance

The pledge of allegiance was led by Mayor Dillon.

3. Roll call

Members present were Mayor Dillon, Alderpersons Dohm, Thomas, Meismer, Reagan, Barnes, Ganson, Martindale and Silver. Also present were City administrator Carlson, City attorney Connor, videographer Reinhart, John Siewert II and Clerk Silver.

4. Additions to/ or deletions from agenda

No additions or deletions to the agenda were offered.

5. Approval of minutes - October 25, 2016

Alderperson Barnes made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 25, 2016 meeting with no corrections. Alderperson Thomas seconded the motion.

6. Community police report

Officer Meeks was not present to report at the meeting.

7. Mayor's report

Mayor Dillon reported replacement trees at Main and western were selected. Mayor Dillon reported a visit to St. Mark's school to encourage students in the importance of voting. The building committee met earlier in the evening and will be following up with Jacob and Klein, Ltd. to help with preparation of a vision for the building project.

8. Public comment

No public comment was offered.

9. Committee reports

a. Finance committee

Chair Meismer reported the committee last met Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. The committee discussed TIF and redevelopment programs value to the city as well as the Christmas get together for city staff and guests planned for February 4th 2017. The committee next meets on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

b. Land use committee

Chair Dohm reported the committee last met Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The committee next meets on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

c. Public Safety committee

Chair Ganson reported the committee last met Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The committee next meets on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

d. Transportation committee

Chair Silver reported the committee last met Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The committee next meets on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

10. New business

a. Motion to cancel the December 27, 2016 city council meeting was made by Alderperson Dohm. Alderperson Barnes seconded the motion.

b. Motion to approve 7 purchase orders totaling $6,375.00 for 2016 City redevelopment grant ( line item 01-11-503) was made by Alderperson Meismer. Alderperson Barnes seconded the motion.

c. Motion to approve 5 purchase orders totaling $3,900.00 for FY2017 TIF 1 grant (Line item 15-00-929) was made by Alderperson Meismer. Alderperson Barnes seconded the motion.

d. Motion to approve purchase orders for invoice #2017 and invoice #2016 totaling $29,425.01 to IML Risk management association for insurance renewal and December 2016 to January 2017 premium (line item 01-11-592) was made by Alderperson Meismer. Alderperson Barnes seconded the motion.

11. Public comment

No public comment was offered.

12. Adjourn

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Alderperson Meismer at 7:11 p.m. Alderperson Silver seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously by voice.
