Norwood trustees discuss inmate volunteer opportunities

The village of Norwood Board of Trustees met Nov. 1 to discuss inmate volunteer opportunities.

Beginning at 7:00pm.

Meeting called – William Roberson - President, 7:00pm.

Pledge recited.

Attorney Josh Herman was present for this meeting.

ROLL CALL: William Roberson, Russ Trantina, Kenneth Pierce, Brent Modglin, Kelly Rendleman and Mary

Melaga. Quorum was met.

GUESTS: Bridget Domenighini (Peoria County Animal Protection Services)

AUDIENCE CONCERNS/SPECIAL REPORTS:

RE: 2016 TAX LEVY - ACTION TAKEN. Matter tabled 'til December 6, 2016.

TAKE ACTION AND/OR DISCUSSION WITH RESPECT TO:

v PEORIA COUNTY ANIMAL PROTECTION SERVICES CONTRACT. With an amendment to IIC reading "The parties acknowledge that the Village shall adopt the County's animal control ordinance as the Village's ordinance for purposes of enforcement.", a motion was made to approve said contract - Russ Trantina, second - Kelly Rendleman. With a roll call vote, motion passed with 4 yeas and 2 nays.

v EXTENSION OF LEASE NEGOTIATIONS - LIMESTONE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT. With an adhoc committee meeting set for November 15, 2016 @ 7pm., the Attorney stated the Agreement is considered a month-to-month extension.

v PEORIA COUNTY POLICE SERVICES (CLEAN BALLPARK). Having contacted the County Police spokesperson, there is no program set for inmates to do volunteer work for our village. Although, they are getting a work program started again in the near future.

v VACATION OF ALLEY (BETWEEN 6613 W. LAMOINE AVE. AND 6612 W. JONES RD.). Matter tabled.

approved with 5 yeas and 1 abstain.

TO BE PAID verbally approved with 6 yeas.

CD #25435 & #23775 - ACTION TAKEN. Motion to rollover the CD's for 6 months - Mary Melaga, second -

Kenny Pierce. With a roll call vote, all verbally approved with

6 yeas.

Note: Russ Trantina (Chairman of Finance & Appropriations Committee) will have a committee meeting on November 15, 2016 immediately following the adhoc committee meeting at 7pm.

With nothing further to discuss, a motion was made to adjourn this meeting - Russ Trantina, second - Brent Modglin. All verbally approved with 6 yeas.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm.
