City of Pekin City Council met Jan. 30.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Orrick.

CALL TO ORDER

City Clerk, Ms. Sue McMillan, confirmed that all Councilmembers were physically present except for Councilmember Hilst, who was absent.

PUBLIC INPUT

Jim Mangan spoke and read excerpts from the Open Meetings Act. Mr. Mangan discussed the discussion of the executive session involving the hiring of the City Manager and felt that the agenda was not properly cited regarding that matter. Mr. Mangan also questioned who authorized the pay increases for the hiring of the Assistant City Engineer and Engineer Tech. Lastly, Mr. Mangan requested the updated Pay Scale that he was denied by the HR Director.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COUNCIL EXECUTIVE SESSION 5 ILCS 120/2 (C) (1.) PERSONNEL

A motion was made by Councilmember Orrick seconded by Councilmember Abel to move into Executive Session to discuss 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1.) Personnel at 4:17 PM. Motion carried voice vote.

Mayor Pro Tem Cloyd announced that no action would be taken after Executive Session.

ADJOURN

There being no further business of the Council, a motion was made by Councilmember Orrick seconded by Councilmember Nutter to adjourn. Motion carried viva voice. Mayor Pro Tem Cloyd adjourned the meeting at 5:28 PM.
