City of Lewistown City Council met March 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Lewistown City Council met in regular session in the council chambers. Mayor Douglas Lafary called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Invocation: Mayor Lafary

ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Alderperson Sally Clark, Jim Long, Brad Ward, Kendall Miller, Kim Pascal, and Mayor Doug Lafary. Also present: City Clerk Cindy Goddard, City Treasurer Debby Brown, Public Works Director Evinn Palmer, and City Attorney Nathan Collins. ABSENT: Alderperson John Spotloe

CLERKS REPORT/MINUTES: Cindy Goddard.

Alderperson Miller made a motion to approve the minutes of March 14, 2023, second by Alderperson Long, the motion carried all ayes.

Alderperson Miller made a motion to approve the minutes of February 27, 2023 Finance Meeting, second by Alderperson Clark, the motion carried all ayes.

Report- Nothing at this time all for tourism.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Debbie Brown. Nothing at this time.

ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Attorney Nathan Collins. Nothing.

ENGINEER'S REPORT: Keith Plavec. No Engineer present.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PETITIONS: No one.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Finance/Insurance/Zoning - Alderperson Clark: Nothing to report.

Sewer - Alderperson Spotloe: Absent

Streets & Allies - Alderperson Miller: Nothing to report.

Police/ESDA-Alderperson Ward: Nothing to report.

Water - Alderperson Miller: Suggested maybe everyone meet and go to Well Field and go thru water plant sometime so everyone understands how it works.

Utilities/Publications - Alderperson Long: Nothing to report.

Public Buildings & Grounds - Alderperson Long: Nothing.

Tourism - Alderman Pascal: Wants to do an Easter Egg Hunt next year, the women at the High Rise said they will help. City Clerk gave results of the Spaghetti supper, total was $2,570.00 for the Downtown Christmas activities, a reminder about the Chamber Auction this Saturday April 1, and on July 2, Karen Myers and City Clerk planning a Kids Day at Porter Park, for the 200th Anniversary of Fulton County/4th of July weekend, food sales to support the Music in the Park.

Tax Increment Financing - Alderperson Spotloe: Absent

Citizens Committee - Amanda Smith working with Evinn Palmer regarding the plans for the $600,000 grant the city is receiving to use at the water ground storage area, pump rehab, fix what we have with a bypass, genset, piping, also at this time getting another quote for the rehab of storage tank.

Christmas Committee - Kenny Haacke Absent.

WORKS DIRECTOR'S REPORT Evinn Palmer Director, said they have been cleaning out ditches and culverts, patching holes, and working on Catholic Cemetery Road.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Nothing

NEW BUSINESS: Nothing

PRESENTATION OF BILLS:

Alderperson Clark made a motion to approve all bills properly endorsed; Seconded by Alderperson Long roll call vote, the motion carried with all ayes.

CLOSED SESSION: No closed session

ADJOURNMENT:

Alderperson Ward made a motion to adjourn at 6:43 p.m.; Seconded by Alderperson Long motion carried all ayes.
