Illinois State Police Increasing Pay for New State Troopers

The Illinois State Police is increasing starting pay for new state troopers. Starting July 1, 2024, new troopers will earn a total amount of compensation above $90k upon graduation from the Illinois State Police Academy.

"As the Illinois State Police continues to evolve, it is essential that we remain competitive in our recruitment efforts," said Acting Director of the Illinois State Police, Brendan F. Kelly.

The deadline for the next round of applications has been extended to May 1, 2024. Those interested in applying can visit the Illinois State Police Merit Board website at illinoistrooper.com.
