Union Pacific has opened its annual Community Ties Local Grants application period for 2024. According to Union Pacific, "For over 160 years, Union Pacific has been committed to Building America – serving as an economic engine and improving the standard of life for millions across the country." The company's Community Ties Giving Program aims to "build safe, prosperous, vibrant and inclusive communities by investing in high-quality nonprofits and programs in the cities and towns in which they operate, and their employees live and work."

Grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 are available for applications in four key areas: Safety, Workforce Development, Community Vitality, and Environmental Sustainability. The application period runs from April 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024.
