Peoria, IL—Yesterday, the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a 15-year-old male with Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Theft, both felonies, after he was arrested over the weekend. The defendant, identified as the driver of a stolen vehicle driving recklessly in the 1900 block of Peoria Ave. in the East Bluff, was apprehended after a short foot chase. According to reports, he remains in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center.

As previously mentioned by the authorities, the juvenile was also involved in a separate vehicle theft incident a week prior, which was classified as a misdemeanor Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle. However, he was not eligible for detention at that time due to the nature of the charge.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to reach out to the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
