City of Chillicothe Police Commission met May 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 10:00 A.M. by Chairman, Gary Fyke. The following members were present:

a. Gary Fyke, Beau Ledbetter, Chuck Vail, and secretary, Shayne Jezek.

b. Absent: no one.

2. Approval of Minutes: Chuck made a motion to approve the minutes of last month’s meeting; Beau second. The minutes of last month’s meeting were approved, as all voted in favor.

3. Unfinished Business:

a. After potential candidate testing on May 6, 2023, there were 2 viable candidates. After a discussion, Beau made the motion to add Jarad Frrance to the candidate list, and Chuck second. All voted in favor, and the motion passed.

b. A motion was made by Chuck to drop the lateral transfer candidate, Antone Maxison, from our candidate list due to his lack of interest. Beau second; all voted in favor, and the motion passed.

4. New Business:

a. There was a discussion regarding undertaking another social media recruitment campaign possibly the first of July.

5. Announcements: There were no new announcements at this time.

6. Public Comments: There were no public comments at this time.

7. Adjournment: The next meeting will be June 20, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made; all voted in favor, and the motion passed at 10:14 A.M.
