City of Chillicothe Public Works Committee met Sept. 17.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Meeting began at 4:31pm
In attendance: Mayor Hughes, Alderperson Sharp, Alderperson Cantwell, Engineer Harken and Superintendent Sutherland. Alderperson Semtner absent.
High usage:
Superintendent Sutherland stated no high usage reports at this time
Lein reports:
Superintendent reported that 12 lien letters will be sent out on 9/18/25
Sidewalk applications:
Superintendent reported no sidewalk applications at this time
Review- Ordinance City Parking owned parking lots:
Alderperson Semtner was absent, no communications were presented to committee
Engineering Agreement- Fehr Graham:
Engineer Harken stated that agreement was still being looked at by Fehr Graham lawyers, at this time nothing to report
Invoice – Merc-sidewalks:
Engineer Harken reported all sidewalk work has been completed and presented an invoice of $ 109,098.38 to be paid to Merc. Alderpersons Sharp and Cantwell agreed to send to council for payment.
Project Update:
Engineer Harker reported that Cloverdale Road was completed and that an E-mail will need to be sent to IDOT from the City on the completion of the work that was done on Cloverdale. Engineer Harken will provide the verbiage that will need to be sent.
Engineer Harken reported that work on Bradley drainage has been completed by G A Rich and Sons and payment has been submitted, Dry well on corner of Truitt and Benidict has not been done yet but thinks within next couple of weeks work will be done.
Engineer Harker reported that MFT Overlay has been completed, public works personnel will gravel edges of new overlay.
Superintendent Sutherland reported that work on Wilmot well has begun and that more funding for the well may be needed he will report back to committee as the project moves along.

Payment to Merc in the amount of $ 109,098.38 payable from line item in road and Bridge Street overlay/curb improvements
