City of El Paso City Council met Aug. 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A Regular Meeting of the El Paso City Council was called to order by Mayor J.W. Price at 7:00 PM.

Council Members Present: Kilpatrick, Mool, Brucker, Moore and Staulcup. Absent: Barker. On Zoom: None. It was reported the meeting is being recorded.

Present in Person: Director of Public Services Barry Kauther, Treasurer Linda Haas, Clerk David Fever, Attorney Stoller and Police Chief Montemurro. Also present: Bryan Wilkey and his family including Karen, Kenzie, Krue, Rush, Kros and Taylor Wilkey, Loren Kaeb and Jennie Kearney as the local press.

Also present by Zoom Application: Recreation Director Colton Scott and Administrative Assistant Sandee Kessinger. Other names from zoom software were Kim and Bob.

Pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Moore, seconded by Staulcup to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

Consent Agenda.

Council Minutes: The minutes of the August 15, 2022 City Council Meeting were presented in written form.

Streets Committee Minutes: The minutes of the August 15, 2022 Streets Committee Meeting were presented in written form.

Register of Bills: The Register of Bills in the amount of $ 164,858.24 as of August 29th was presented.

Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by Mool, seconded by Staulcup to approve items on consent agenda. Voice call vote taken of all ayes.

Public Comments: None.

Old Business: None,

New Business:

Police Sergeant: The Clerk then swore in Bryan Wilkey as promoted to Police Sergeant.

139 Welcome Sign Agreement: Motion by Brucker, seconded by Kilpatrick to approve and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign agreement between the City and Janet Stoller for placement on her land of southbound welcome sign. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

2023 Council Meeting Schedule: Motion by Brucker, seconded by Staulcup to delete July 3rd from presented schedule and then approve. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

Director of Public Service: Barry’s report was presented in written form plus the tents on Elm Street for the Corn Festival will be put up on Tuesday.

Mayor’s Report: The Mayor reported reservations have been made for IML Conference..

City Council Comments: Alderman Kilpatrick asked if when tent spaces are laid out can they use chalk as opposed to spray paint.

Police Chief Report: The Chief presented his written report and they are to continue to monitor parking on the first block of West Third.

Operations Supervisor: Report given in written form.

Parks and Recreation Department: Report given in written form.

Clerk’s Report: The Clerk had nothing additional to report.

Attorney Stoller had nothing additional to report.

Motion by Moore seconded by Mool to adjourn. Voice vote taken of all ayes. Meeting adjourned. at 7:26 PM.
