City of Marquette Heights City Council met March 9.

CALL TO ORDER 

The City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M by Mayor Little. 

ROLL CALL 

Aldermen present for Roll Call: Alderman Crum, Joos, Neuhaus, Babb, Sipes, and Neumann. 

Also present were Clerk Steele, Treasurer Worent, Water Superintendent Smith, Street  Superintendent Raible, Police Chief Merrit, Fire Chief, Attorney Swice, Tim Heady, Building  Inspector Dearborn, and Office Manager Johnson. 

Absent: Fire Chief Bartlett

a.Alderman Crum made a motion, seconded by Alderman Babb to approve the hire of  XLN Services in the amount of $25,800.00. 51-00-1142, 01-00-1161 Ayes: Alderman  Neuhaus, Neumann, Crum and Babb. Nays: Alderman Joos, and Sipes  Motion Passed   

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA: 

Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Crum, to approve the Consent  Agenda in its entirety. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes Nays: None 

a. Approved the regular Council Meeting Minutes of February 23, 2026

b. Approved the Council Executive Meeting Minutes of February 23, 2026 

c. Approved the Committee Meeting Minutes of March 2, 2026 

d. Approved the Special Council Meeting Minutes of March 5, 2026 

e. Approved Bi-weekly expenditure in the amount of $99,202.70

a. Alderman Joos made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann, to approve  the payment of $3925.00 to Air One Equipment, INC. for Fire Gear  01-22-5560. All Ayes 

b. Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to  approve the payment of $1,544.00 to Leak Detection Services, Inc. for water  leak detection services on 2/18/26, 51-21-5165 All Ayes Motion Passed 

c. Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Joos to approve  the payment of $1,100.50 to WPC for Miscellaneous Supplies for the water  plant. 51-31-6590 All Ayes, Motion Passed 

d. Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to  approve the payment of $5,885.83 to WPC for the Fire Hydrant replacement  51-21-5175, All Ayes, Motion Passed 

e. Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Babb to approve  the payment of $2,965.50 to Walker Excavating Co. Inc. for the water main  and sewer repair at Doulas and Pontiac 51-21-5165 All Ayes Motion Passed 

f. Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to  approve payment of $1,241.00 to Water Solutions Unlimited for water plant  chemicals, 511-31-6560, All Ayes, Motion Passed 

g. Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Crum to  approve amendment to Ordinance #970 regarding the housing of pigeons.
