Following the success of the City of Peoria Strategic Planning kickoff, held on June 1 and 2, the City has now announced the launch of  Peoria2023.org, which will serve as a repository for all information related to the strategic planning process.

Visitors to Peoria2023.org  will find information on upcoming events, videos, and frequently asked questions.  The webpage will also allow visitors to weigh in on the 6 topics discussed at the strategic planning kickoff: business support, attraction, and retention; neighborhood investments; growing the workforce; infrastructure improvements; city fiscal health and financial future; and reimagining downtown.  Later in the summer, the webpage will feature a community survey and a tool to provide input on the priorities of the city.

Remarking on the new webpage Mayor Rita Ali noted, “We were pleased that over 400 community members joined us for the two-day kickoff of strategic planning, but we also heard from people that the sessions didn’t fit into their schedule.   This webpage, along with additional upcoming meetings, provides additional opportunities for more voices to provide their thoughts.”

The strategic planning process sets priorities for the city while aligning with the budget to increase efficiency and effectiveness.  The process will last several months and will involve public input from community events, community forums, and meetings.
