Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, recently shared updates on his activities and advocacy efforts through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 13, 2025, LaHood highlighted a meeting with a local constituent: “It was great to meet with Elijah from Dunlap and talk about his selection as a delegate for Breakthrough T1D’s 2025 Children’s Congress, where he’ll advocate for those impacted by Type 1 diabetes. The following day, August 14, LaHood addressed the ongoing challenge of affordable housing in his district: “The need for affordable housing affects communities and families in every corner of #IL16. LaHood has represented Illinois’ 16th congressional district since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he secured re-election by defeating Elizabeth Haderlein with approximately two-thirds of the vote.
