Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, posted several updates on his official Twitter account over the weekend, highlighting local pride, honoring veterans, and meeting with constituents.

On March 29, 2026, LaHood expressed enthusiasm for Illinois sports with a brief message: “Not. Done. Yet. Final Four bound!! #ILL”.

Later that same day, he marked National Vietnam War Veterans Day by posting: “Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who served in the Vietnam War. We owe these veterans a lasting debt of gratitude for their sacrifice and commitment to our nation. Welcome home. “.

On March 30, 2026, LaHood shared details of a recent constituent visit in Washington D.C.: “Always appreciate the chance to meet with folks from #IL16 while they’re in DC! Thanks to Andy and Jayne Sauder of Morton for stopping by to say hello and chat about priorities for Central Illinois! Hope you enjoyed your trip to our nation’s capital!”
