FOIA Request to City of Farmington Regarding Newly Registered Businesses on May 7, 2025.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Peoria Standard have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Farmington. Our request seeks access to records concerning businesses registered with the city in the past week. Specifically, we are interested in obtaining a list that includes details such as Business Name, Business Number, Business Type, Business Address, Issued Date, Status, and Registered Agent Name.

This information is vital for us as media professionals dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency. We believe that access to these public records will enable us to better inform the public about local business activities and governmental actions. In line with our role in disseminating information and our affiliation with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a non-profit organization assisting media companies in investigating state and federal agencies—we have requested a fee waiver for this information.

We look forward to receiving these records promptly and appreciate any assistance from the City of Farmington in facilitating this request.
