FOIA Request to City of Henry Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Peoria Standard have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Henry. The request was made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, and we asked for it in an electronic format for ease of access and analysis.

The information requested includes a list of all parking violations currently unpaid within the city. This list should include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date each violation occurred, and the total amount due overall.

As journalists committed to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that by shedding light on these unpaid parking violations, we can encourage greater compliance with parking regulations and foster a sense of responsibility among community members.

We are hopeful that our request will be granted promptly as we continue our work in disseminating vital information to the public.
