FOIA Request to City of Wyoming Regarding Newly Registered Businesses on May 7, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at the Peoria Standard have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Wyoming. Our request seeks access to records detailing newly registered businesses within the city from the previous week. Specifically, we are requesting information that includes the business name, business number, business type, business address, issued date, status, and registered agent name.

Our objective is to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage that holds public institutions accountable while ensuring transparency for our readers. As members of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental agencies—we leverage Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws to shed light on government actions and inform the American electorate.

We believe that access to these public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities as media professionals. Furthermore, given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver in accordance with our status as members of the media.

For more information about our efforts and mission, please visit [The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy](https://stopsecrecy.org/about/).
