FOIA Request to Peoria County Sheriff’s Office Regarding 2024 Arrest Records on January 7, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Peoria Standard have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent electronically and is specifically for a list of all arrests that took place from January 1, 2024 till December 31, 2024.

The records we seek should include the following fields: arrestee name, arrest date, arrestee gender, arrestee race, arrestee’s date of birth, and the crime committed. As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe these records are essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities.

We have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. We remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
