On January 28, 2025, we at the Peoria Standard sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Peoria Heights Community Unit School District 325. The request sought copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contained the keywords “Lucy Calkins” and “Units of Study”.

As a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe access to these public records is crucial for our mission. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
