The intersection of South Madison Park Terrace and West Wiswall Street will close to all traffic starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 30, according to a statement released March 27. The closure is scheduled to last approximately ten weeks, depending on weather conditions.

The closure is part of the Combined Sewer Overflow Year 4 Control Project, which requires sidewalk and pavement removal in the area. This work is expected to improve infrastructure as part of ongoing efforts related to the sewer system.

During the closure period, South Madison Park Terrace through traffic should use South Western Avenue as an alternative route. For West Wiswall Street through traffic, West Proctor Street is recommended as a detour.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling near the construction zone and are advised to use alternate routes while work continues at the intersection.

The city has not provided additional background or context regarding future phases of this project but advises residents that weather could affect completion timelines.
