Tazewell County Republicans Chairman Jim Rule said that with President Trump’s return, the United States is entering a new era characterized by economic growth, fortified borders, and a renewed sense of hope under decisive leadership. Rule conveyed his statement to the Peoria Standard on January 20.

“As Donald Trump returns to the White House today, a new era of prosperity and strength begins for America,” said Rule. “With a steadfast focus, President Trump will champion the interests of American workers, driving the economy to new heights. His bold leadership will secure our borders and safeguard the future of every citizen. America is about to enter a golden age—led by the unmatched leadership of President Trump.”

According to Politico, Trump’s agenda includes mass deportations, sweeping tariffs, and an assertive foreign policy that may involve military interventions in Greenland and Panama.

Fox News reported that on Inauguration Day, Trump signed executive actions aimed at implementing significant policy changes. These priorities include border security, energy reforms, reducing the cost of living, and ending federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. Actions taken include declaring a national border emergency, reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, constructing new sections of the border wall, and designating cartels as terrorist organizations. Additionally, Trump plans to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, terminate offshore wind leases, and abolish the Green New Deal.

Rule was first elected as Chairman of the Tazewell County Republicans in 2018. According to the organization’s website, he is focused on increasing Republican voter turnout, expanding party membership, and communicating the party’s positions on issues important to Tazewell County voters.
