Lane closures will start on W. Moss Avenue in Peoria at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, depending on weather conditions. The closures are required for water service work connected to the Moss Avenue – Sheridan Road to Western Avenue – Reconstruction Project.

According to city officials, the eastbound lane of W. Moss Avenue from N. MacArthur Highway to N. Garfield Avenue will be closed to all traffic. Only westbound traffic will be allowed between N. Garfield Avenue and N. MacArthur Highway.

Access will still be available to N. Moss Avenue Terrace and the 900-1000 blocks of W. Moss Avenue, but drivers should expect temporary delays in these areas.

Drivers are advised to use all marked detour routes and exercise caution while traveling through the area due to the closures. Alternative routes are recommended during this period.

For through traffic between N. MacArthur Highway and N. Sheridan Road, the suggested detour is via N. Sheridan Road.
