Peoria County Board – Executive Committee met April 22

State Representative Travis Weaver has launched the annual Community Clean-Up Project running through May 22. The initiative encourages residents—especially students—to collect litter in their communities and submit photos for recognition.

Illinois State Representative Ryan Spain has led passage of “DJ’s Law” (House Bill 4382) aimed at increasing penalties for young drivers who violate passenger restrictions and cause serious accidents. The law honors Whiteside County teen DJ Dorathy, who died in a car crash last March. The bill now heads to the Illinois Senate.

The City of Peoria Department of Public Works is offering free mulch giveaways for residents on April 25 and May 2. The event takes place at the Public Works Facility and staff will assist with loading.
