1. CALL TO ORDER

1.1 Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Duncan at 3:29 pm.

Chairperson Duncan welcomed Member Marcia McCann to the committee.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

2.1 December 2, 2024

A motion to approve the Ways and Means Committee meeting minutes from December 2, 2024, was made by Member Windish and was seconded by

Member Kelch.

Motion Carried. (4-0) Absent: Member Williams

3. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS / REPORTS / OTHER MINUTES / UPDATES 3.0.1 Informational Items / Reports / Other Minutes / Updates

3.1 County Clerk’s Office

3.2 Collections & Transactions Report November 2024

Ms. Parker directed the committee to the Collections and Transactions report in their packets. She stood for questions; there were none.

3.3 County Election Commission

There was no representative present from the Election Commission.

3.4 Supervisor of Assessments/Board of Review

Mr. Jones advised they are getting ready to send out exemption notices to seniors and finishing up the Board of Review this week; the decision notices from the Board of Review hearings will be sent out. Board of Review also has hearings with the Property Tax Board in Springfield. They will begin receiving and processing exemptions from various qualified taxpayers. They will be ready to move on with the tax cycle ahead. Mr. Jones stood for questions. Chairperson Duncan asked if we are on schedule.

Mr. Jones advised they are on schedule and slightly ahead of where they were this time last year.

3.5 Treasurer

Ms. Bjerke advised that they finished all the distributions; they did their interest distribution December 17th. In total, they have distributed about $353.9 million to about 150 taxing districts. The interest they distributed was about $1.3 million. They are working on closing the tax cycle, finishing balancing, and getting ready for the audit. They are also working on closing their financial books. Ms. Bjerke stood for questions.

Chairperson Duncan asked for clarification on the collections and transactions report.

Ms. Bjerke provided a brief overview of the process.

3.6 Veteran’s Assistance Commission

There was no representative present from the Veteran’s Assistance Commission.

4. RESOLUTIONS

4.1 Monthly Delinquent Taxes

A motion to approve the resolution was made by Member McCann and was seconded by Member Kelch.

There are 32 items this month.

Motion Carried. (4-0) Absent: Member Williams
