Edward R. Jackson, 43, was charged on March 27 with several felony drug offenses after police executed a search warrant at his home in the North Valley area of Peoria. Authorities reported that large amounts of heroin, methamphetamine, and drug-selling equipment were found during the search.
Jackson faces charges including Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. During Jackson’s detention hearing, the court granted the State’s request for detention and he will remain in custody until trial.
According to police reports from March 26 around 10:30 a.m., officers discovered nearly one pound of heroin and half a pound of methamphetamine at Jackson’s residence in the 600 block of Spitznagle Avenue. Drug paraphernalia and a stolen handgun were also recovered at the scene.

Teacher absenteeism in Peoria County was recorded at just over thirty-two percent during that period as reported by state education officials.
Among local schools, Dunlap High School had the highest enrollment among white students with eight hundred seventy-three enrolled; Richwoods High School had one hundred eighty-two multiracial students; Lincoln School led Hispanic enrollment with two hundred eighteen students; while Peoria High School had seven hundred ninety-eight Black students enrolled during that same school year according to official records.
