Vit Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met February 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Bob Marshall at 6:53 p.m.

Roll Call: Roll call was answered by: Bob Coulter, Jared Heller, Don Hood, Bob Lascelles, Bob Marshall, and Larry Payne. Sara Porter was absent.

Visitors: Tracey Korsmeyer, HS Principal; Matt Klaska, Elementary Principal; Aaron Bucher, Technology Director; Charles Lascelles, Maintenance Supervisor; and Travis Snowden, Bookkeeper.

Public Input: None

Informational/ Discussion:

A. Strategic Planning:

1. Aaron Bucher—Presented a district technology summary in written form.

2. Charles Lascelles-Prioritized needed maintenance as follows: a. Roof at grade school; b. Heaters in grade school; and c. Cameras in grade school.

3. Discussion was held on moving 6th grade to HS building.

Executive Session: A motion was made by Larry Payne and seconded by Don Hood to enter executive session at 8:17 p.m. Motion carried with an all aye vote.

Open Session: A motion was made by Jared Heller and seconded by Bob Coulter to return to open session at 9:12 p.m. Motion carried with an all AYE vote.

Action items:

A. A motion was made by Bob Lascelles and seconded by Don Hood to approve the resignation of Dr. Michael Curry as Superintendent/Principal effective June 30, 2017. Roll Call: Coulter, aye; Heller, aye; Hood, aye; Lascelles, aye; Marshall, aye; and Payne, aye. Motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.

B. A motion was made by Bob Lascelles and seconded by Jared Heller to approve Catherine Hackman as Junior High Track Coach for 2016-17. Roll Call: Coulter, aye; Heller, aye; Hood, aye; Lascelles, aye; Marshall, aye; and Payne, aye. Motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.

Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Jared Heller and seconded by Bob Coulter at 9:25 p.m. All AYE vote.
