Village of Peoria Heights Board of Trustees met April 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

1. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.

2. Everyone stood for the Pledge to the Flag.

3. Upon roll call, the following Trustees were present: Fuller, Carter, Mariscal and Reichert. Trustees Harn and Cumming were absent.

4. Minutes: Trustee Reichert moved to approve the minutes from April 4, 2017. Trustee Mariscal seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Reichert moved to approve the public hearing minutes from April 4, 2017. Trustee Mariscal seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0.

5. Correspondence: Clerk Musselman had no correspondence.

6. Announcements: Mayor Allen congratulated Trustee Carter, Diane Mariscal, Mike Phelan, Margaret Gauf, and Jeff Goett on their recent elections.

7. Trustee Reports:

Public Works: Director Smith state that hydrant flushing would begin next and the water meter change-out project was 53% complete.

Administration/Personnel: There was nothing to report.

Economic Development/Village Improvements: Trustee Carter had nothing to report.

Police: Trustee Fuller had nothing to report.

Building Maintenance: Trustee Mariscal had nothing to report.

Fire: Trustee Reichert had nothing to report.

8. Comments from the Audience: There were no comments from the audience.

9. Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.

10. New Business: Trustee Reichert moved to approve the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budgets, which are balanced. Trustee Reichert seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Carter moved to approve the 3% wage increase for non-union personnel, effective May 1, 2017. Trustee Reichert seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Carter moved to approve the $1,000 donation request from the Peoria Heights Community Band. Trustee Reichert seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Carter moved to approve the acceptance of the bid to refurbish and paint the water towers on Toledo, Kingman, and Galena Road. Trustee Reichert seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Reichert moved to approve the appointments as a consent agenda item, and Trustee Carter seconded with the motion approved by a vote of 4-0. Trustee Reichert to approve the following appointments and Trustee Carter seconded the motion.

a. Raymond Picl, Sr. Board of Police Commissioners 2017-2020

b. Bob Spencer, Police Pension Board 2017-2019

c. Stephanie Turner, Village Treasurer 2017-2021

d. Catrina Ankenbrand, Planning Commission 2017-2020

e. Michael Woo, Planning Commission 2017-2020

f. Roger Larson, Planning Commission 2017-2020

The motion to approve the appointments was approved by a vote of 4-0. The American Legion presented Mayor Allen with a certificate of appreciation and a US Flag that was flown over the US capital in honor of Mayor Allen's support for the Legion.

11. Treasurer's Report: Total balance in the Village account is $1,210,797.17 and the total balance in the Waterworks account is $458,278.30.

12. The regular session was adjourned at 6:55 pm upon a motion from Trustee Reichert and a second by Trustee Carter.
