Brimfield Board of Education met April 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Brimfield Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library. Heinz called the meeting to order with the following members present: Bauer, Graham, Hoerr, Moon, and Johnson. Harmon was absent.

Bauer moved and Johnson seconded to approve the minutes of the regular and closed session meeting of April 19, 2017.Motion carried

Hoerr moved and Graham seconded to adjourn the meeting sine die.Motion carried

Bauer moved and Hoerr seconded to approve Mr. Richardson as president pro tem to conduct the meeting and election of the board.Motion carried

Mr. Richardson called roll with the following members present: Bauer, Graham, Hoerr, Heinz, Kenney, Thompson, and Updyke.

Mr. Richardson reviewed the election results (on file in the Unit office), declared the candidates elected as a member of the Brimfield Board of Education, and administered the oath of office.

Bauer nominated Heinz as President for a term to April, 2019

Updyke nominated Bauer as President for a term to April, 2019

Heinz was elected President with Bauer, Graham, Hoerr and Heinz voting yes.

Heinz nominated Bauer as Vice President for a term to April, 2019

Bauer was elected Vice President by a unanimous vote

Graham nominated Hoerr as Secretary for a term to April, 2019

Thompson nominated Graham as Secretary for a term to April, 2019

Hoerr was elected Secretary with Bauer, Graham, Hoerr and Heinz voting yes.

Bauer moved and Graham seconded to accept the retirement, with gratitude for time served, of Jim Blane, High School Business Teacher and Deb Fisher, High School Physical Education. Motion carried

At 7:25 p.m. Hoerr moved and Thompson seconded to adjourn the meeting.Motion carried
