History Room on March 14, 2017. The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by the President.
Roll Call: The following members answered the roll call: Anne Lockhart, Jeanette Hillyer, Margy
Simmons and Tom Horstmann.
Absent: Nancy Marshall, Bill Bradley and Lisa Reinholtz
Also present: Shawn Edwards, Director
Minutes: The minutes of the regular meeting of February 2017 were approved as printed.
Public Comments: No one from the public was present to offer comments.
Bills: After examining the bills, Margy Simmons moved, seconded by Tom Horstmann that
the bills be approved and paid. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne Lockhart, Jeanette
Hillyer, Margy Simmons and Tom Horstmann. No Nays, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: The February Treasurer’s Report was submitted and discussed. Tom
Horstmann moved, seconded by Margy Simmons that the Treasurer’s Report be
approved. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne Lockhart, Jeanette Hillyer, Margy
Simmons and Tom Horstmann. No Nays, motion carried.
Director’s Report
Director Edwards gave the following reports:
Statement of Economic Interest. Receipts need to be returned to the director.
Employee Insurance. There was a small rate increase in the health insurance for employees.
FY2017/2018 Budget. Discussion was held. Tom Horstmann moved, seconded by Margy
Simmons to adopt the Budget with the 5% increase. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne
Lockhart, Jeanette Hillyer, Margy Simmons and Tom Horstmann. No Nays, motion carried.
Margy Simmons moved, seconded by Tom Horstmann to accept the budget resolution as
presented. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne Lockhart, Jeanette Hillyer, Margy Simmons and
Tom Horstmann. No Nays, motion carried. The 2017/2018 Budget and Resolution will be
presented to the Village Board, April 6, 2017.
New Computers. Three new HP desktop computers were purchased for staff use.
Sale and Honor Books. Sale books are now on the back wall. Honor books are by the Art League
Exhibit.
Basket Raffle. $1254 was made for the Summer Reading Program.
Makerspace. The program is becoming more popular.
Babypalooza. This resource fair for newborns and young parents will be held April 8, 2017.
Candidate Forum. The forum will be held March 14, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Peoria Heights
Village Hall for all candidates in the April 4, 2017 election.
President’s Report
The clock needs to be reset in the history room.
Reaching Across Illinois Library Systems Report
Quincy Public Library has completed the migration process to the RSA catalogue.
New Business
Director Edwards was approached by Helping Hands as a possible benefactor of their proceeds. He will
have further discussion with them.
The next meeting will be held April 11, 2017 in the local history room.
