History Room on April 11, 2017. The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by the Vice President.
Roll Call: The following members answered the roll call: Anne Lockhart, Margy Simmons, Tom
Horstmann, Nancy Marshall, Bill Bradley and Lisa Reinholtz
Absent: Jeanette Hillyer
Also present: Shawn Edwards, Director
Minutes: The minutes of the regular meeting of March 2017 were approved as printed.
Public Comments: No one from the public was present to offer comments.
Bills: After examining the bills, Margy Simmons moved, seconded by Lisa Reinholtz that the
bills be approved and paid. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne Lockhart, Margy
Simmons, Tom Horstmann, Nancy Marshall, Bill Bradley and Lisa Reinholtz. No
Nays, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: The March Treasurer’s Report was submitted and discussed. Tom
Horstmann moved, seconded by Anne Lockhart that the Treasurer’s Report be
approved. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Anne Lockhart, Margy Simmons, Tom
Horstmann, Nancy Marshall, Bill Bradley and Lisa Reinholtz. No Nays, motion
carried.
Director’s Report
Director Edwards gave the following reports:
FY2017 Per Capita Award Grant letter was received. The award of $4779.76 may be delayed
due to the state budget impasse.
Internet Firewall. The internet firewall needs to be upgraded. The current license expires April
23, 2017. A new firewall with a 3 year license will be $1945 with Sonic Wall.
Parking Lot – LED lamp replacement. Foster Jacobs replaced all parking lot lights with LEDs.
Parking Lot – asphalt and sealcoating. This will not be done until the end of April, possibly
beginning of May. Asphalt will be put on the rocks. Sealcoating will be done on a separate date.
Garden Project - Flutter and Buzz. Director Edwards is working with Mary Anne Stear and
Krissy Short on the garden plan and landscaping. There will be a switch to more flowers this
year in attract pollinators. Will have speakers on bee hives. The final plan will be to have
attractive landscaping year around. Discussion followed. Tom Horstmann moved, seconded by
Margy Simmons, to give the program $500 for plants and supplies.
Helping Hands Resale Shoppe Donation. The proceeds from the fourth week in April sales will
be donated to the library.
National Library Week/Edible Book Festival. Staff members made edible display representing
their favorite book.
Annual Meeting/Election of Officers. This will be held May 9 2017 following the regular
meeting.
President’s Report
There was none.
Reaching Across Illinois Library Systems Report
There was no RAILS report.
New Business
The next meeting will be held May 9, 2017 in the local history room.
Margy Simmons and Bill Bradley will not be attending the June Board meeting.
