Village of Hopedale Board met July 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Mayor Eilts called the meeting to order. Trustees Mohr, Schmitgall, and Wittrig were present Trustees Springer and Myers were absent.

Trustee Wittrig moved to approve the minutes of the July 7, 2017 meeting. Seconded by Trustee Schmitgall. Motion carried.

Linda and Jim Remus as well as Jerri Stewart were present to get clarification on the timeline the library needed to be moved out of the Village Hall. The Board explained that the November/December timeline stood as they need to get the Police Department moved due to ADA issues, however, if the library needs extra time they can bring it to the Board by October to ask for an extension. The Board is willing to work with the library however there has to be something concrete with a definite date.

John Grimes was present to go over the Audit. The Board will approve the Audit, Financial Statement and Management Letter at the next board meeting.

Trustee Schmitgall went over the Police Report for June and the Bi-Weekly Ordinance Report. He stated that Chief Layne is in need of a new laptop for the patrol car. Trustee Schmitgall will get prices and bring to the next board meeting.

Trustee Wittrig moved to pay the monthly bills in the following amounts: General Fund $15,413.08, Street Lighting $1,085.44, Liability Insurance $20,238.98, Audit $3,890.00 Civil Defense $42.87, Water $4,399.38, Sewer $8,806.57, for a total of $53,876.32. Seconded by Trustee Schmitgall. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Trustees Schmitgall, Wittrig, Mohr and Mayor Eilts voting aye.

Trustee Wittrig stated an aerator broke at the Sewer Plant and was taken to Schilpp Welding for repair. It may need to be replaced in the future and he asked Darrin Willis to get prices, however we will just repair this one for now.

Trustee Wittrig stated there was a progress meeting for the WWTP and everything is going good however they need to take a look at what is exactly covered as far as repairs to the existing plant.

Mayor Eilts stated he received a request from Michelle Jenkins regarding planting a living urn seedling tree at Railside Park. Trustee Wittrig will contact Michelle to get more information.

Mayor Eilts proposed installing a sidewalk from the school parking lot to the ball diamonds to help out during ball games. A Parks Committee meeting will be set for a future date to discuss.

Trustee Mohr will contact Lorn Coggins in regards to putting on a new roof on the water plant. The Board agreed he can start anytime using his own discretion but preferably in the fall.

The Board approved Clerk Lippmann to get a cash drawer for cash water payments in the amount of $150.00.

Trustee Mohr moved to adjourn. Seconded by Trustee Schmitgall. Motion carried.
