The calls in Astoria included 23 fires - 14 structure fires, one vehicle fire and seven other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $56,000 in fire loss - or about $2,435 per fire.
The department also received three false calls.
