Copperas Creek Fire Protection District responded to 18 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The calls in Copperas Creek included 13 fires - three structure fires, two vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $81,000 in fire loss - or about $6,231 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
