Village of Hanna City Council met October 30.

The Special Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Winterroth at 6:00 p.m. with pledge to the flag and a moment of silence to honor those serving our country. Present: Trustees Hoopingarner, Johnson, Stear, Fryxell, Pahl, Weaver and Clerk Klatt.
Guests: George Walls, Capri O'Neal, Kristian Parker … to observe meeting as part of Political Science class.
Electrical Aggregation: Village received notice last Thursday from consultant, Good Energy, that after working with Homefield Energy, Village can obtain lower costs for electrical aggregation. Three-year contract was signed in 2016 at rate of.06007 kWh. Electrical Aggregate rates have been coming down … Village can extend contract through December 2020 at rate of $.05757 per kWh effective January 1, 2018 through June, 2019 and rate of.05653 per kWh from July 2019 through December 2020. Other terms and conditions stay the same. Deadline for amendment approval is October 30.
After discussion, Johnson made motion to approve amendment to the contract with Homefield Energy for Electrical Aggregation at rates mentioned above … Fryxell seconded. Roll Call Vote: Hoopingarner: yes, Johnson: yes, Stear: yes, Fryxell: yes, Pahl: yes, Weaver: yes … motion carried. Homefield will send letter to residents explaining this opportunity to have lower rates.
Insurance: Village received invoice from IMLRMA for 2018 insurance in amount of $25,250.00. If Village pays full amount by November 11, 2017, Village can receive 1% discount totaling $250.00 plus avoid interest totaling $250.00. After discussion, Hoopingarner made motion to approve full payment of insurance premium in amount of $25,000.00 for 2018 insurance with IMLRMA … Pahl seconded … Roll Call Vote: Johnson: yes, Stear: yes, Fryxell: yes, Pahl: yes, Weaver: yes, Hoopingarner: yes … motion carried.
