Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) is slated to take her campaign message to Peoria on Wednesday, when she is scheduled to speak to the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Ives, who is challenging Gov. Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary, is scheduled to take the Mt. Hawley Country Club podium beginning at 5:30 p.m. She will be available to the media availability before and after her speech, an Ives release said.
Ives is challenging Rauner on a platform of fiscal responsibility and greater government accountability. She has regularly accused Rauner of having turned his back on the conservative voters who came out to support him in 2014.
Ives also recently blasted Rauner for not agreeing to publicly debate her prior to the March 20 primary.
“Voters deserve to hear both candidates in a very public way,” she told the Prairie State Wire. “They deserve to hear the differences in our policy choices and the way we go about making our decisions.”
