Report: Rankin spent $9,823 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rankin School District 98 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $8,889 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,823 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 226 to 240.

Rankin's spending in 2016-17 was 24 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
