Report: Eureka spent $8,798 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Eureka Community Unit School District 140 is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Woodford County school district spent $8,535 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,798 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1625 to 1559.

Eureka's spending in 2016-17 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
