Report: Spoon River Valley spent $12,048 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Spoon River Valley Community Unit School District 4 is up 21 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Fulton County school district spent $9,967 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,048 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 411 to 338.

Spoon River Valley's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
