Marquette Heights Fire Department responded to 20 calls in 2017 - 66.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Marquette Heights included 15 fires - eight structure fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $118,500 in fire loss - or about $7,900 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
