City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Committee met April 2.

A meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee was held on date of 04-02-2018 after the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. The meeting was called to order at 8:35. Present were Mayor Price, Steffen, Rigsby, Brucker, Kilpatrick and Kearney. Also present were Hickok, Fever and Linda Haas.
Discussion centered around the planned Memorial Day events being organized by the Recreation Department.
The question of who is paying for the band and how must the parties will pay has been an issue. The Council wants the Bars to pay $900.00 for the band. The Bars say that the cost for all other items makes the $900.00 to much. They bars agreed to pay $500.00 each up front to the City. The Committee decided to move forward with the agreement that Topseys and Brothers would pay the $500.00.
The question also arose about what types of drinks were going to be allowed. The agreement was that Beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks could be served and drank outside on the street within the fenced area. All drinks must be in plastic or aluminum. No glass containers allowed on the street.
Director Hickok will speak to The Alley Bar owners and explain the plans for the weekend.
