City of Peoria issued the following announcement on July 2.
The City of Peoria and the Community Development Department encourage citizens to take action in beautifying our neighborhoods by combating litter. A press conference will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, to share exciting news about the following litter initiatives and activities:
100 Blocks in 100 Days
The 2018 Dumpster Program
Illegal Dumping Signage
Lunchtime Litter Collectors
Neighborhood Sweeps
The #PickUpPeoria Social Media Challenge
Trash or Treat
The press conference is open to the public, and will take place at 10:00AM on the west side of City Hall. In the event of rain, the press conference will be moved to the first floor of City Hall.
Speakers include Mayor Jim Ardis and Josiah Williams, Neighborhood Enhancement Coordinator. Also attending will be First District Councilwoman Denise Moore and Steve Tyler, Volunteer Chair of the litter committee.
