City of Lacon issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
Open burning of landscape waste only. (Landscape waste: Shrubbery cuttings, leaves, tree limbs, brush or other plant materials from that property.)
ALL burning of landscape waste must be extinguished by SUNSET.
NO burning on national holidays or Halloween.
ALL burning must be constantly attended and controlled to prevent offensive odors at all times.
NO burning of landscape waste on city streets, alleys or sidewalks.
NO burning of refuse/garbage.
Any person violating this ordinance can be fined no less than $250.
