Peoria County approves one referendum, rejects another

Peoria County said "yes" to one measure and rejected another on Nov. 6.

Taxpayers in Peoria County voted against a referendum calling for the creation of a Special County Retailer’s Occupation Tax for Transportation.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, the Special County Retailer’s Occupation Tax for Transportation had 2,807 votes in favor and 4,797 against.

Taxpayers in Peoria voted for a referendum calling for the Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria Referendum Question: Shall the Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria sell the following real estate: "Racoon Lakes", a 123.5 acre parcel in Hollis Township, Peoria County, PIN 20-08-400-009 and 20-08-200-019, west of Cameron Lane, north of McCullough Road and east of Stranz Road.

With 100% percent of the votes counted, the Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria Referendum Question had 3,028 votes in favor and 1,904 against.
