Report: Midland spent $10,720 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Midland Community Unit School District 7 is up 7.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Marshall County school district spent $9,956 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,720 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 728 to 708.

Midland's spending in 2017-18 was 19.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
