City of Delavan issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.
The City of Delavan is accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer. Starting salary will be $36,400 to $38,625 and will be based on experience as a police officer. Applicants must have a valid Illinois driver's license and FOID card Applicants must have no prior felony convictions. A current State of Illinois police full-time or part-time certification is preferred. All full-time employees must reside within 20 air miles of City Hall. A reasonable time limit will be provided for successful applicants to move within the mileage limit. All applicants must complete a probationary period.
Benefits include paid personal, sick, and vacation. Also included is health, dental, and vision insurance along with 11 paid holidays and IMRF retirement. A full explanation of benefits can be provided upon request.
