Canton home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Canton fell by $8,750 while total sales increased by 34.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 43 homes sold, with a median sale price of $42,000 - a 17.2% decrease over the $50,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 32 homes sold in Canton in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Canton for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $1,673, approximately 4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2017.
