Mason City home prices fall in the second quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2017 in Mason City fell by $1,280 while total sales decreased by 30.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2017, there were nine homes sold, with a median sale price of $60,720 - a 2.1% decrease over the $62,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Mason City in the second quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Mason City for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $1,549.90, approximately 2.6% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2017.
