Homer Glen home prices rise in the third quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in Homer Glen rose by $2,000 while total sales decreased by 35.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were 77 homes sold, with a median sale price of $305,000 - a 0.7% increase over the $303,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 120 homes sold in Homer Glen in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Homer Glen for 2017 was $7,411.39. In 2016, the median sales tax was $7,221.30. This marks an increase of 2.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
