Rome home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Rome rose by $20,550 while total sales increased by 16%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 29 homes sold, with a median sale price of $114,050 - a 22% increase over the $93,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were 25 homes sold in Rome in 2016.

The median sales tax in Rome for 2017 was $2,192. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,152. This marks an increase of 1.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
